Filming for the new Jurassic World began in Thailand and, according to the country's Department of Tourism, will last until July 16th. The film will be filmed in various locations including Bangkok and Huai To Waterfall. The film will star Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, but there is no information on which actors are in Thailand filming. According to Variety, the film will also travel to Malta and the United Kingdom. According to the publication, the script by David Koepp, who wrote the first Jurassic Park, will show “a completely new version, following three adults and three teenagers trapped on the Island”.

The film does not yet have a defined title, being called Jurassic World 4 and Jurassic City by sources. The premiere is scheduled for July 2, 2025. The Jurassic World trilogy began with the 2015 film, which has one of the highest-grossing films of all time with more than US$1.6 billion grossed. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, it had two sequels, which eventually brought back all of the Jurassic Park protagonists; Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, directed by J.A. Bayona in 2018, and the conclusion, Jurassic World: Dominion, which came out in 2022 with Trevorrow back.

All three films surpassed $1 billion at the box office, so it's no surprise to see the studio returning to Jurassic World. The new film should bring new characters and a proposal for the franchise, with David Koepp, screenwriter of the first Jurassic Park, as the architect. In addition to writing the first Jurassic Park, and adapting Michael Crichton's book of the same name, he was also the screenwriter for The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the sequel. The two films were directed, of course, by the legendary Steven Spielberg, with the trio played by Sam Neil, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in the middle.

Spielberg, who was executive producer of the three Jurassic Worlds, will also play this role in the new film, along with other veterans of the brand: Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley.
