Take a handful of Guardians of the Galaxy, and a pinch of Dungeons & Dragons, mix everything together, and if the mixture doesn't explode in your hands, here's Borderlands! The long-awaited film, an adaptation of the video game saga that has won over millions of fans, was shown in the first official trailer. After showing us the first images of Cate Blanchett in the role of the outlaw Lilith, Lionsgate has opened the curtain on its new film, ready to conquer gamers and non-gamers. Thanks to the trailer we now get to know the protagonist and the other members of the team put together to face a very high-risk mission that involves explosions, breathtaking escapes, and alien monsters of all kinds.

The film was directed by Eli Roth with additional photography directed by Tim Miller. In the cast, we find Jamie Lee Curtis in the role of Patricia Tannis, Kevin Hart in the role of Roland, the young Ariana Greenblatt in that of Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu in the role of Krieg, and Jack Black who will lend his voice to the inevitable robot Claptrap.
The official synopsis of Borderlands released online in recent months by Lionsgate:
Lilith, a notorious outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the most powerful S.O.B. of the universe, Atlas. Lilith will form an alliance with an unexpected team: Roland, a former elite mercenary desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina, a wild pre-teen with a passion for explosives; Krieg, Tina's hulking bodyguard; Tannis, an eminent scientist with unbalanced sanity and Claptrap, an immensely wise robot. These unlikely heroes must battle monsters, aliens, and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe may be in their hands, but they will discover that they are also fighting for something more: to protect each other.
